The General Hospital caters to residents of the Sri Sathya Sai Taluka, which includes Bukkapatnam, Kothacheruvu and Puttaparthi mandal. Outpatient, Inpatient and emergency care of the available departments, and emergency services are offered free of cost.
Pilgrims visiting the Ashram, sevadals and relatives of those being treated at the super speciality hospital may avail of emergency care and treatment for acute illnesses only. Medical checkups and treatment for chronic ailments are not offered for such patients.

The Hospital is around 8 kms from the Sri Satya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam railway station (Puttaparthi) and less than 1/4 km from Prasanthi Nilayam ashram bus terminus.

It is mandatory that all Indian patients (and their attendants) visiting the hospital for treatment carry their identity cards with address proof. The following identity cards are accepted:
- Voter I-Card
- Adhar Card
- Ration Card
- Any i-card issued by Central/State Goverment with address.
Note: According to the legal requirements of the country, the foreign nationals visiting the hospital for emergency service must produce passport with valid visa in original.
